HERDING INSTINCT: Unknown
ISSUES: Stranger danger or territorial reactivity
Jax is somewhat reserved around people he doesn't know but we have observed that he does exhibit some stranger danger or territorial reactivity when strangers approach the yard. He does not accept them readily, either, even if invited in.
We did find out the hard way that, although he is crate trained, he can be territorial about his crate & does not want hands reaching in. Even though he was raised around multiple children of various ages, we would not recommend a home with kids under 12 years old.
He likes his toys & playing fetch/keep away or tug. He is very good around other dogs of all types & will try to initiate play with just about everyone.
He likes his treats & knows a few tricks to get them. He can also open latch doors if they are not locked.
Jax is a pretty quiet guy most of the time but he will sing if he's happy to see you or you are one of his favourite people.
Jax was owner surrendered because, as a single working mom of 5 kids, she could not give him the exercise & activity she felt he deserved.
